It has been said by many that have been to our home.....and it's true and that's the way we roll......
I try to tame it down when my mom comes to stay, but it is impossible, even tamed down it's non stop. There are always projects, people in and out, parties, sleep overs, recipe contests, distractions....she has learned to And not only is our home that way....our city is that way....we had so much fun this week with Comic Con....
This is the best convention ever - more than the boring healthcare ones I used to have to go to....people really get into it....
Bad shot but costumer's ready for the parade coming across the bridge...
Lots of fun wraps on the city (reminds me of my LA studio days)....
They have special drinks and menus at all the downtown gaslamp places....
And an outdoor area with lots of panels and people (friendly) cruising around....
Just one of the pop up stores that are around.....such cute things....but I loved the swag bags the best!
Only captured a few....and love to see everyone so happy and out and about....
Project of the week: making a footstool! I found this beauty for $10.00, it was really a side table but perfect size for the little footstool I wanted to make....also approved by Rocky! He wanted to make sure it did not interfere with his ramp!
It was in great shape....loved the legs and bones of the structure.....a few scratches on the side that would be covered up with the do over....
I had this extra pillow from our new sectional......
So I took the pillow apart, got some foam and made a pattern.....
The shape looks odd because some of the foam is laying on the floor but it was traced and cut to fit the octagonal shape of the stool....I had just enough fabric to cover it....
I used those covered finishing tacks to secure it to the top of the stool....
It fits perfectly where we need it....notice Rocky's ramp takes up room so it had to be small!
We did have a nice reprieve from the cray cray and got to visit our niece at her beach house....we took a bottle of Jim's wine from his winery....the best!
Had lots of yummy food.....
And just took it all in......
Thrift finds of the week: These depression glass candle holders for 95 cents!
A plethora of Thanksgiving pilgrims and Indians - $1.50
1/2 of a bakelite purse from the 1950's - 95 cents
This is what it looked like when new....the handles are missing....I am ISO!
And the one I left behind....sniff sniff......
So proud of The Addie! He is forcing the issues to the forefront and who better than The Donald to get it out there....we all know The Donald won't get the Nom, but his part in this process is undeniable....The Donald will force the issues to be discussed and force the candidates not only talk about the critical issues but detail out a plan (not just rhetoric) to separate the wheat from the chafe on what we can expect from a candidate....The Addie and The Donald.....a winning team for USA!
Yes, say what you want but he is for the USA! And I have a great button to add to my political button collection!!!
In other news....my project pile is growing.....
But that just means more happy crazy fun loud times in our home!!!
