We’re back home after our 2015 RV trip through Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and California.
The trip was amazing.... I felt renewed, refreshed, regenerated, reacquainted, reawakened, rebuilt, renovated, and remarkably rested and so so grateful to have serious bonding time with each other, our grandsons and The Addie.
Then we unloaded......and all that was cast aside for about a week! Lost count of loads of laundry, things to clean and put away, stacks of mail to catch up on, some consulting responsibilities, etc., etc., etc.
So as I slowly crawl my way back to some sort of semblance....I can reflect now on our most wonderful trip.....spoiler alert - lots of pictures so you may want to bale here!
As a tradition, mommy designed travel shirts with our travel destination....Rocky approved!
Our first stop was the Goldfield Ghost Town in Arizona....the boys have been hooked on 'Legend of the Superstitions' through books and tv so they were excited to visit the old ghost town....
And of course....the mighty Superstition Mountains/Lost Dutchman's Mine that I also was enthralled with at their age....
Best $6.00 of the trip we spent!
Lots and lots of different keepers....
And lots of pieces of Garnets
That GiGi is using in a locket necklace....Thanks boys!
The famous Weavers Needle.....they were amazed and even found arrowheads (that Aunt Shannie and I bought at the gift shop and hid)....hey....its all about the memories!
And after our oh so hot July day in the desert - we refreshed at Uncle Bo's pool in Scottsdale
With lots of cannonballs and Superman's.....
And a great big steak dinner bbq cowboy style and refreshing watermelon - yum!
The next morning we drove up to Oak Creek where I spent every summer of my young life growing up...we had an awesome RV spot in the same park I stayed at so I knew every crook and rock in the creek. We had days of just hanging out....
Hiking in the creek....
Discovering new (to them) and old (to me) beautiful spots....
The boys loved their Army camping shovels we got them....lots of digging happened....
The creek may or may not have been rerouted in some areas....
Dams were built....
Swimming holes were swam in...
Crawdads, Minnows and Tadpoles were caught and held in their own habitat....
Lots of fishing.....not much catching
Beauty was enjoyed!!!!
And every afternoon the most wonderful showers with thunder and lightening....
Which made lots of time for sling shot practice.....
Until one large lightening bolt struck a tree by our berry patch!
And lots of berries to pick.....
We so loved our wonderful time in Oak Creek....but it was time to get back on the road!
