You know what's really sad? When your local merchants call you to check on you because you have not been in shopping for a few days.....hmmmmm....makes ya think.....it reminds me once when on business travel I got sick and the hotel staff made me a get well card and brought me flowers.....am I the only one who thinks that is strange? I mean, nice, but strange - right?
I was feeling great on Monday...went to lunch with a great friend and then Monday afternoon I felt tired, got a headache and by 4 pm sore throat and laid out like roadkill on a road in the south.....there was so much going on at work and we are so short handed that I worked all week from home, using my mute button to sneeze, cough or otherwise expose of the yuck that was draining from every orifice of my body...sorry, TMI I know.....
My whole week was spent around this pile of OTC and RX. I think no matter how many drugs you put in your body and how much you rest it still takes 7 - 10 days to get over seasonal sinusitis/bronchitis that I get. Patience is not my strong suit.
I loathe laying around but had no energy to do anything else. I literally could not breathe so it was easier to roam around like a zombie until I was so exhausted I would sleep for a few hours. I drug stuff out of everywhere that needed attention. It was sad...I would drag it out, lay down and rest, drug myself up, sleep 15 minutes, do about 30 minutes of something and repeat the cycle.....stuff was neglected and revisted and neglected.....
All my cake decorating stuff needed organizing so I drug that out....
and had 2 empty storage bins that it fit perfectly in and tucked it away all organized and ready to go.
Luckily I had picked up all the stuff for my pumpkin decorating contest....so all I had to do is was decorate it....
I know it is a bit avaunt guard, however I like it. I was going to pin the paint chips in but decided to tape them and reuse the black pumpkin later....
I keep a personal journal....and my current one is almost full I took out some old scraps of scrapbook paper that I had and a blank journal I had
and whipped up this little jewel.....all ready for my deep dark secrets......
I was suppose to go on a Halloween Photo shoot with Kristen and was just not up to it....Friday Steve went camping with his brother and for 3 hours I had a great visit from the boys and Kristen.....
they boys had fun playing with the google eye glasses I got.....
laughter - one of the best medicines.....
The other best medicine....family and friends....Amy and Steve shared a few precious hours with us while here for a very brief stay. I invited them over for a light dinner and literally had to figure out what I could serve from what I had in my tiny pantry.....luckily I had all the ingredients for Taco Soup, served with tortilla chips and cheese and avocado and made homemade caramel and salt chocolate bars for dessert.....I love these two....
And what does a great military pilot and pilot for Alaska Airlines bring little boys? - planes.....even made them a runway and played with them and answered all their airplane questions....so fun....notice the duct tape in his hand.....we had some mishaps on landings....
Everyone left by 7, and furry Dr. Rocky insisted we cozy up on the couch. The rest of the weekend I was back to my roaming routine....I did get every medicine cabinet cleaned out, my pantry organized, the tupperware straightened. In between roaming I watched too much TV including Turner Classic Movies starting at 4 am. I also got hooked on 2 new reality shows and paid the bills paid and made 2 of the 3 costumes all in shift rotation.....I think I am working down my stockpile now and ready to go back to work and support my local shops and help them make their numbers for the month.
Hope you all had a good week!!! Stay well!!!!
