Christmas Love is in the details.....

The boys stay over every Friday night and have lots of friends in our cul de sac....Steve and I are pseudo Grandparents to all of them and we adore each and everyone.  On holidays we like to leave little gifts....we call it 'Boo' for Halloween, 'Elf' for Christmas, etc....
Brody loves to get into the act; Dylan loves to watch from the window.....Brody sizes up the neighbor activity next door....looks like it is clear....
He dashes over, leaves the loot, rings the doorbell and runs home!  Fun...then 2 minutes later it is done to us....
Brody's class was making ornaments - Ginger boys and Ginger girls...I volunteer to help Kristen, who is class parent to 4 classrooms....yes, she only had 2 boys however she cannot stand for a class room to not have a class parent so she does those as well....since they are 1st graders we had to make 'kits' of the ornament....so many boys, so many girls, etc....
It seemed like I punched out little embellishments forever.....
 Then set up the kits....
 Put them in sandwich bags....
 Fun for boys and girls!!!!
For the 3rd grade classes she did a snowflake Christmas frame....I painted and painted these frames - all red....then the classes did snowflakes (no pictures - bummed) and then I wrapped all of them.  I think one day last week I wrapped over 100 gifts.....
We decided to make dry snow globes....Kristen got some awesome choices for us - she scoured the dollar store and thrift stores....
These boys were ready to go!
Brody was in Turbo speed...Dylan took his time and made specific choices, tried different things, etc.  It is so fun to see their personalities emerge in doing things with them.....they all turned out adorable!
Our 'snow' was kosher salt....Brody made this one with a snowboarding dog and tree and bench....
 Snowman with tree....
 Santa with Reindeer....
Dylan's creation....he put the gingerbread house on the elf and glued it down - so creative....
Dylan make this one for me as he knows I love snowmen....
Brody made this one for me and I love how he put the lose Christmas bulbs in the snow....
I just was not feeling my coffee table decoration (driftwood Christmas tree)....since we just changed the décor in November I had to mix it up a bit....I decided to paint some of my shells....
Found some color coordinating bulbs and put them in the clam shell my parents gave me 34 years ago when I moved to California...it has a top to it but I only used the bottom.....
I put a few decorations around the back so people sitting on the couch could see some detail as well....
Liking this so much better....so anxious for The Addie and Ms. Shannie to arrive tonight to really kick off the festivities!!!!
Wrapped up a billion thank you gifts and delivered them all!
And the most precious detail of all.....while I was busy making breakfast the boys each made a drawing for Rocky and left it by his little stocking.....
The best detail of Christmas Love is the little things done for others!  XO
