This week was SO BIG - it required 2 postings....NOT really - blogger is trying to sell me on more space so I split it up in 2 pieces =)
Remember the sunflower Dylan has been growing all summer? Time to harvest!
Some of the precious harvest.....
Then he decided to whip up a salad and add the shelled sunflower seeds in the ingredients! Notice the tongue action - just like his PaPa, GiGi and Mommy......
And a good friend at work, who is a master cook and chef, made the beautiful bread that we had for dinner with our salad!
It tasted as delish as it was pretty....Thank you JC!
After school and dinner Brody joined us for a mid week sleep over so we had a little marshmallow roast in the evening....the boys love this!
The summer shoe issue continues with me.....I was not happy with my other choices so found these tribal sandals on Zappos and LOVE THEM!!!!!Also got to do a little thrifting and found this great Lego game to play with the boys for only $3.00!!! All pieces were included which is shocking to me to find at a Thrift Store!
Wednesday a.m. we decorated the wagon and posed for our annual July 4th picture. It was kinda cool this 4th - living so close to the water we had a strong marine layer that did not burn off until after noon and then it was still cool....
Dylan is now too big to ride in the wagon =( however he loved pulling his little Bro....
We sat in our usual spot....it was chilly and you can tell how Dylan wrapped up in a stadium blanket!
Celebrating love, freedom and the greatest country on earth!
Then it was home for some water play....The Addie and Gramps set up the slip and slide....the water was freezing!
These boys did not care!
And Cosby, my grand-dog, got in on the slip and slide action - he loved it!
Firework Show - the illegal kind that you have in a high fire zone with a fire department on the street behind you.....
but to me....this was the real show....watching these precious faces.....
Time to celebrate with food and drink!!! May I offer you a glass of champagne with fresh raspberries?
Plenty of BBQ and the Pasta Salad that my kids love to have every.dang.year. That's ok - I want them to be happy and have great memories.....
Something sweet to eat!
....and a ride on the swing is a nice way to relax away the afternoon........
