The Monkees and Three Dog Night

Like many of you I was saddened this week to hear of Davy Jones from the Monkees passing....I was too young for the force of the Beatles, however, I loved the Monkees and my girlfriends and I would listen to this album for hours....read Tiger Beats and even went to see the Monkees at the Phoenix Coliseum which was a BIG DEAL!!!! Thanks Davy Jones for the great memories!

Luckily I still have one of my favorite groups 'Three Dog Night' =) Adam and Shannie took off to Phx for a long weekend to celebrate Adam being named Employee of the Quarter for Northwest America (Congrats Adam!) and for Shannies birthday (Congrats Shannie) and also the Nascar race (Congrats Elliot Sadler!).....so we have had doggy company for 4 nights and they love the kitchen when there is activity in there...not often ;)

Remember this cabinet from last week? It turned into the vision I had and I love it:

The embellishments and little crystal knobs really give it personality I think....we haven't moved it in yet and I am hoping to today....lovin how it turned out and a special shout out to my brother in law for his help!!! I have always loved repurposing furniture - even back when I was dating and we would go to Brunks auction in Phx (anyone remember that?)....maybe when I retire I can do more of this....I drool over furniture so much that Kristen says I will never be the 'crazy cat lady' but I will be the 'crazy furniture lady'...

I found this at the grocery store and thought I would experiment and try to replicate the lettuce wraps from PF Changs

chop chop chop....lots of prep.....

and it did turn out really nice....I made some lo mein to go with it and Kristen and the boys came over and ate with us...yummy....

This is a little cabinet I keep in the Guest Room (aka Toy Room) that has all my little dog figurines that I had when I was young and some new ones I have found while thrifting.....I was cleaning and dusting this week and when I opened it....

I see that Brody decided that his CARS binoculars would be a nice addition =)

Saturday a.m. we had to take some items down to the Westin for a major conference Steve is presenting in all week so we drove over to Little Italy and picked up some sandwiches and headed to the Bay for an impromptu picnic....We love Little Italy and some day my niece Amy will be living there - can't wait!!!

This is our little spot on the bay where we go as often as we can....it was 83 yesterday and it was so nice to be outside and taking in this breathtaking view which we never get tired of...

The beautiful SD skyline....

Some tall ships were heading out and lots of whale watching boats....we saw some seals playing as well...

Rocky soaking it up! Hope you had lots of sunshine in your week!
