If you give a Mouse a Cookie....If you spend a day with GiGi

Sometimes Big Brother goes places without little brother when that happens Brody gets to spend the day with GiGi and when you spend the day with GiGi....

You get to play with all the cars and firetrucks and spread them all over the toy room floor (and then GiGi will spend all night picking them up and putting them back and organized)

You get to play Batman getaway and rescue in the Living Room on the glass table and mess up all the pillows(and leave your precious fingerprints everywhere and GiGi finds hidden cars and Batmans down the sides of her couch)
You get to go Thrifting with GiGi (and GiGi will buy you every dinosaur, pirate ship, Batman and CARS toy they have)
You get to go swimming when every you want and play with the hose for hours (even tho GiGi's water bill was over $400.00 last month)
You get to go to Costco and eat hot dogs and have lemonade (while GiGi gets groceries and scores when she finds the cutest must have leopard reversible vest!)
You get to have a little snooze in the back seat (because GiGi got to the consignment shop too early and decided to drive down by the Midway and Star of India and take you to see boats and planes)....
You get to play with the water and hose yet again (to fill up the vintage rose birdbath GiGi found!)
You get to try out all the power tools and drive the race cars at Home Depot for as long as you want (even if GiGi only needed one roll of black tape that would have taken 5 minutes to get)

and....you get to help get ready for our last Sunday Family Dinner and Game night before The Addie and Shannie leave for Phoenix.....Tacos anyone?
Then it is Left Right Center....
 Brody rolls safe!!!
Cosby wins big (look at the smile on Mommys face)
Dylan goes wild hair after his roll....
and he and Uncle Adam pay honor to Don King....
It was a great week!

Some things don't come easy for me......strike that, Most things don't come easy for me....but the clock always says 12:30

So Kristen txt me this picture while she and Brody were out Thrifting.....how could I refuse - Get it I said - I will pay you tonight.....

So, in an effort to be slick, we decide since the battery for this baby is $100.00+ and the charger another $50.00 we saw an ad on Craig's list for a Harley Davidson Power Wheels Motorcycle with a battery and charger for less than that (a lot less than that)...so now I have paid for all of these and when we went to switch the battery we found the Corvette owner jacked up some work around for a different type of battery so we are still trying to figure it out and yes, I went and got the battery and charger for well over $150.00.....and still just have a ride on Harley Davidson for the boys to share.....I am in deep I tell ya...but look at these faces - how can I resist?

I loved these knobs I have on my desk - they are vintage amber and they really are too fragile for my desk and Steve is always after me because I try to repair them instead of replace them.....it is so hard for me to change something I love because it is not practical.....
So I finally broke down and replaced them and these are ok but need to be drilled a bit more to be flush with the drawers.....I think I traded down big time....
The boys had their Bowling Trophy Party on Saturday - so Friday when the spent the night they each had a pin to decorate - Brody wanted his to be Batman so we worked on that....
He glued and pasted and put on googly eyes....
and was so proud of how it turned out!
Dylan wanted to make a German Shepard....
He cut and pasted and worked and worked
And here is his happy results....
 They were actually pretty cute....
And the table was full of great pins decorated!
Brody so proud of his trophy....
 Dylan with his....
Brody and his Batman Balloon and his Batman Pin...
Dylan with his Balloon German Shepard and his Pin German Shepard.....
After Bowling Steve and I were hungry and could not agree on what to have so we headed to the food court....he wanted plain (Subway) I went spicy Indian Food - I think we will be spending a lot of time in Food Courts when we retire as we usually always have opposite tastes.....
Saturday night we went the the St. Paul's LUV Benefit Gala at Paradise Point....it was wonderful and had a great dinner and evening with lots of nice people....
I also went Thrifting last week....found a vintage Ukulele for our Kitschy Hawaiian Room....found this PEZ collection for a friend that collects and found this Baby Basket Basinette for a lucky little girl.....
Found all these vintage sewing accessories - they are in original package and marked like 10 cents - I know people that do vintage sewing displays that will love these!
I have been looking for a clock to replace this one for a long time....now I am  not sure, every time I pass it I break into song....

I used to live in New York City
Everything there was dark and dirty
Outside my window was a steeple
With a clock that always said twelve-thirty

{Refrain}
Young girls are coming to the canyon
And in the morning I can see them walking
I can no longer keep my blinds drawn
And I can't keep myself from talking

At first so strange to feel so friendly
To say good morning and really mean it
To feel these changes happenin' in me
But not to notice till I feel it

Cloudy waters cast no reflection
Images of beauty lie there stagnant
Vibrations bounce in no direction
But lie there shattered into fragments

Whoooooo doesn't want cooler weather?

Whooooooo doesn't want some cooler weather????  We have had a heat wave like no other in SD....in the high 80's and low 90's....sometimes I can't believe I grew up in Phoenix, altho, it is true...it is a DRY heat and not the humid action we have been seeing.....

The boys have been keeping cool on their tree swings.....

....and Kristen (my recycling wonder) has kept me busy with indoor mommy projects - sort by color and  print....with all the intensity at work, I love mindless projects like this....

We made an overnight turn around trip to Mesquite (106+) to take my mom and her dog to meet my sister half way to drive her home....I love Mesquite as I am not a big gambler and the hotels are a cool 60 degrees and pet friendly and it has 'Old Vegas' food and prices....I had his yummy prime rib dinner for $5.99!
Steve went for the club..... the next morning we had the ham and egg breakfast for $2.99 - unreal people I tell ya!
I found a buy on a riding toy for the boys - the love it!  It has a 12volt battery and has a little zip to it!

and I found these 'good-boned' but ugly painted owls at the dollar store.....

So I took one home and painted it sage green.....
and painted a clear glass cake plate with some inexpensive brown paint.....

....and created this little 'hope for fall weather' shrine to visualize and meditate on cooler weather!  If I create it....it will come....
Hope you are chill where you are!
